the ethics of electric dreaming

The Ethics of Electric Dreaming was a ten day hybrid residency programme created by BRiGHTBLACK Productions which took place Autumn 2024 in partnership with Cambridge University's Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence and Liverpool John Moores University.

Five UK based artists joined BRiGHTBLACK for 3 days at Cambridge University, 3 days at Liverpool John Moores and 4 days online to explore how ethical use of artificial intelligence in their practice might help them meet three critical challenges facing artists at the current time;

1. to make work which meets the expectations of contemporary audiences

2. to reach new audiences

3. to reach net zero

Level 3 was invited to join this residency as a participant and contributor, thinking about how the ethical use of artificial intelligence can create a positive change for accessibility in the cultural sector. We gave a lecture at Cambridge University and LJMU sharing our pre-existing work in this area.
